Rehearsing My Choir

It has been awhile.

Wow, Xanga has changed a bit since I last updated... hmmm all kinds of colors to choose from...  Anyway, I will stick to the original.  Washington is pretty great this time of year.... Reminds me of those times in Canton, early winter, walking with Shultz to nite class on wednesdays.

My public radio life is still treating me well although work today is pretty darn slow, and I am a bit tired of surfing threads on audiworld so I figured I would come over this way.  According to Mary's xanga she has moved to LA... wow, didnt see that one coming.  Mary, if you read this, I have a bunch of friends out there(culver city) actually... not too far from you.

Havent seen many movies lately.  I just cancelled my netflix last week because I had the same movies for an entire month... but I got my monies worth.  As for music check out the band Colour Revolt kind of like Franz Ferdinand mixed with at the drive in and lucero... much different than what I am used to listening to.  What can I say, my tastes have softened up a bit... The last time I listened to Senses Fail was when I was falling asleep in the car in the middle of the night... so yeah.

I have been doing a bit of traveling lately... drove to florida a couple weekends ago to hang out with Rick and Cori's family, good time.  The Honigs' came along and that is always nice.

Speaking of Cori, we are both doing very well.  She actually got us tickets to see DCFC and Franz Ferdinand at DAR in a couple weeks... the tickets are actually going for 500 a pair on Craigslist.org... out of control.  I am looking forward to the summer though, this city is much easier to enjoy and (much cheaper) when the weather is nice.

I am no longer a VW driver... I have since replaced it with this piece...

Dont let this picture fool you, it is a great car... it just so happens that it needs a bit of attention.  Actually that picture was taken right after I first got it.

Glad to see Mikey is doing well.

On that note.  I will talk to you again later.

Wow, an update... not really. I am not sure if anyone even reads this anymore but... just one quick note. Next Monday(oct 24) I am engineering a live broadcast from the 9:30 club of Death Cab for Cutie. Not sure what time it kicks off but you can go to the 9:30 club's site to see what time they start and then go to NPR's Site to listen to it. Hope this finds all of you well.

This will be my last xanga update.  "All good things have endings", I figured as The Get Up Kids close out on their professional careers it would be a good day for me to stop blogging, or at least blogging here.  The last (however long it has been since i posted) has been very good.  Many, many rewarding hours at work, lots of time spent with friends, and an immense amount of time spent with one person in particular.  Washington is definitely growing on me... it has its quirks, I am beginning to learn when to and when not to go certain places, how to avoid immense rats that travel down new york ave, where to go to get good pizza and the softest part of the grass on the mall to lay my head.  I am not sure I would like to trade my Marylander status to that of a "Washingtonian" but I might if you talk me in to it.  Sushi really isnt all that bad, just has to have good company to enjoy it with.  Tomorrow night I will try ethiopian food for the first time(snicker) and then sushi afterwards... so you will have to email me if you would really like to know.

As for my recommendations...

If you can get out to see the Get Up Kids before they call it quits, I highly recommend it... the show last night was unbelievable... some things i would like to have traded but I guess "all good things must come to an end."  Cori and Grace enjoyed it and that is really what mattered.

Music:  Not much on the recommendation side here... although i have been listening to the album leaf a lot more than i used to...

Movies:  Batman Begins is awesome... Cant wait to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith...  my friend bob swears by the movie Layer Cake and the upcoming film "Murderball" a documentary about the australian parapalegic(sp) rugby team is going to be great... So please go enjoy.

If you would like to have my cellphone number, feel free to email me and i will get it to you that way.

Last words.  "Buy a VW, use Apple Computers, keep friends that keep tabs on you(like shultz), love Jesus, and date a girl from Florida."

adieu

It was a gorgeous week. I have been in 8 states and have driven/ridden almost 2 thousand miles. I visited one of the most beautiful places i have ever been(savannah, georgia) with my girlfriend, yes, girlfriend. I became studio and mix rated at work. I moved to virginia. I have a pretty great apartment with a pool and some grills(pics to follow).

Today i dropped the jetta off at NGP racing for chains and tensioners. Parents are out of town so dave and jessie picked me up and took me to BOP. Fells was gorgeous today.

Someone at work told me that I was glowing. I agree.
